This is a year-long option for Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10. This course is intended for students who would benefit from a slower pace to cover this dense curriculum. This class will be paired with a learning strategies period where students will be able to do their math work with support if needed. Students will receive 8 credits (four credits for Foundations of Mathematics and Pre-Calculus 10 and four credits for Learning Strategies 10).
Pre-Calculus is for students wishing to enroll in a college or university program that requires calculus (such as science, math, or engineering). This pathway provides students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into post-secondary programs that require the study of theoretical calculus. Topics include: algebra and number, measurement, relations and functions, financial mathematics, and trigonometry.
Note: Approval from math department needed.
