This is a year-long option for Pre-Calculus 12. This course is intended for students who would benefit from a slower pace to cover this dense curriculum. Unlike the Year-Long options for other grades, this class is NOT paired with a learning strategies period. Instead, it is paired with a study block. Students would attend math every second day and would have a study block on alternating days. Students will receive 4 credits only (4 for Pre-Calculus 12) and need room in their schedule for a study block. Students would not be able to take both Year-Long Pre-Calculus 12 and Calculus 12 since Pre-Calculus 12 needs to be completed before Calculus 12. This course runs subject to sufficient enrolment

Pre-Calculus is for students wishing to enroll in a college or university program that requires calculus (such as science, math, or engineering). This pathway provides students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into post-secondary programs that require the study of theoretical calculus.  Topics include: algebra and number, measurement, relations and functions, financial mathematics, and trigonometry.
