Film Studies 12

Course code: YCCT-2BX

This course offers students the challenge to move past the entertainment-value of film. Films are still the single most-consumed form of entertainment in the world, but their messages and meaning are as varied as the people who make them. Besides watching films, students will learn its history and evolution, cultural dilemmas, its power to be used as propaganda, and the widening array of cross-genre film in this post-truth age in which we live. Students will come away with improved skills in appreciating different perspectives, critical debate, writing and self-reflection.
