Students will learn to recognize and use literary terms and poetic devices, to interpret literature and to understand, recognize and use descriptive, narrative, and expository modes of writing. Students will study the short story, drama, poetry and novel(s), and traditional methods of English literary analysis. Students will continue to practice composition skills including multi-paragraph compositions and short, explanatory paragraphs.
