Drafting and Design 10 will introduce students to board drafting with a focus on orthographic, mechanical and architectural drafting. Students will have a design challenge where they will physically draft and design a prototype, which they will then build and test. Additionally, they will create a partial set of house plans. The house plans will also be used to introduce computer automated design using two drafting and design programs. Students may also get the opportunity to draw and design an object, then cut it out using a CNC machine. Programs that will be used are a gateway to programs used in Drafting and Design 11-12 and also used in post-secondary engineering courses.
