Psychology 11 examines the various theories which attempt to explain human behavior such as “Why do people behave the way they do”? A significant amount of time will also be spent on personality disorders. You will look at a wide range of disorders from the milder “neurotic” disorders — phobias, anxieties, obsessions, compulsions, etc. to the more severe and less common “psychotic” (mental) illnesses i.e. schizophrenia, manic depression, multiple personalities, etc. Time will be spent looking at some of the stronger human emotions i.e. anger, fear, frustration, stress, depression etc. Where do these feelings come from? How do they affect behavior? How do we learn to deal with them? You will also look at how society and peers influence behaviour
